About

Hiya!

My name is Brigid. My joys in life are spending time with family and friends, playing the piano, reading, traveling, and last but not least, discovering how I can best support others suffering from migraine and food sensitivities.

The dreaded head throb has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. After countless doctor visits, while undoubtedly helpful in providing pain relief in the form of triptans, it wasn’t until meeting with a dietitian that, for the first time, a piece of my migraine puzzle was unveiled; I was sensitive to salicylates. Limiting my intake of this food chemical has reduced my migraine frequency significantly.

Unfortunately, I’m still not completely migraine free, which is why I’m enthusiastic about learning what I can about this horrid and complex neurological condition along with nutrition, food sensitivities, and the microbiome, all of which appear to be inextricably linked. I’m also studying for a Bachelor of Nutrition and Dietetics (Honours) in Australia, so look forward to sharing what I learn along the way.

If you suffer from migraine, are new to the food sensitivity journey and not sure where to start, or would like to learn more about how the microbiome plays a role in your health, feel free to browse through this blog where I share low salicylate recipes, tips as well as sciency bits and pieces. I also have a youtube channel which you’re very welcome to subscribe to.

Much love xx
